Littlefort Stud was started in 2004, and was named after a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere
that we came across whilst holidaying in the wilderness of Canada.
With a life long love of horses, I have kept
Miniature Shetlands as companions for my riding horses for over 30 years. My early interest in breeding resulted in a
gorgeous black colt of Vorden Bloodlines, born 25 years ago. Family life and work commitments intervened, but my enthusiasm
for the breed returned with a vengeance in 2004. I started out by visiting quite a few established studs and 'interrogating'
long standing breeders! some of whom have become friends. It has been a slow build up and required much patience, but now,
after studying pedigrees and bloodlines, I am delighted that my earlier investments in a super young stallion and a few very
carefully selected fillies has paid dividends. I am now proudly producing my own home bred stock with true to type quality,
presence, and charisma.
I intend to remain small in numbers, breeding purely for enjoyment and driven by a desire
to produce 'a few' quality foals each year, with correct conformation and friendly temperaments being of paramount
importance.
Stock will be occasionally for sale. Enquiries always welcome.
